An Invitation to Rest in Christ

Our days are busy…we long for stillness.

   Our body is weary…we long for rest.

      Our work is stressful…we long for peace.

         Our life is monotonous…we long for purpose.

            Our spirit is dry…we long for relationship.

               Our heart feels empty…we long for Life.

“Come with Me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” Mark 6:31

In the midst of all our longings, Jesus invites us to come to Him, to find the fulfillment of those desires in Him alone…to receive the deep soul-rest that only He can give.

All of us are being formed—either conformed into the ways of the world around us, or transformed into the character and values of Christ.  Solitude is one foundational way that we open our hearts to the Spirit’s work of transformation.

“A Day with Jesus” is a half-day retreat in a peaceful setting, where we spend some directed time alone with God and also learn and interact together with a small community of brothers and sisters.

Jesus says to us, His followers: “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”   (Mark 6:31)
