The Cooking/Crafts Outreach Ministry of Evergreen, or COME, came about as a result of the Lord's impressing upon me the need to reach out and share the gospel with others.
Heb. 10:24-25- "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching", have been my theme verses.
The time is short and I wanted to encourage our church family to reach out to their unchurched/unsaved friends and encourage them to become connected to a church and to learn more of our wonderful Lord and Savior!
The classes provide a comfortable non-threatening way to share the gospel and to fellowship with others while learning something new. It allows time to develop relationships with others which I feel is important since God himself is a relational God. Visitors may meet others from our church while preparing their own food to take home and cook and while sharing a meal together. Making these connections and bonding over common interests may help them feel less intimidated about coming to visit our services, since they are no longer "strangers."
The classes are designed to teach new skills and at the same time bless some one with the fruits of our labor. Costs include materials for yourself and for enough to have another to donate to one of the ministries that Evergreen is in some way "connected." We have been blessed in order to bless others.
