San Gabriel Valley Houses of Prayer (SGV-HOP)
17And he was teaching them and saying to them, "Is it not written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations'?" Mark 11: 17a
What is a house of prayer?
A house of prayer is a consistent gathering of brothers and sisters in Christ who pray for their community and the nations in a spirit of true worship.
A house of prayer does not necessarily meet in a house. It might meet in a park or it might be a walk between brothers and sisters.
What a house of prayer might look like:
Every house of prayer should have an element of intercession and worship.
Intercession
- That Christ would be glorified
- That we would wait on the leading of God’s Holy Spirit by listening to Him
- That salvation would come to local communities and the nations
- That we would be filled with the Holy Spirit to be His disciples and walk in a manner worthy of our calling.
- Logistics – have one or two facilitators who are leading the time
Worship
- To be true worshippers who worship the Father in spirit and truth
- Logistics – will look differently for each house of prayer
Every house of prayer will look differently
