Asian Access Update by Elliott Snuggs

“And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”  2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV)

As I write this I’m on my way back from Singapore where I was working together with several of my colleagues at Asian Access. We were reflecting together on what God is doing in the ten countries we are currently working in and thinking about what He wants to do as we move into ten new countries in the next four years. We were reminded that at the core, we are about transformed lives. We are all in a lifelong process of being transformed into the image of Christ. One of the joys in my work is getting to walk alongside pastors in Asia in this journey; watching how God is doing amazing things in them. At a recent session in Cambodia, these were some comments from the pastors as they learn, grow and are being transformed through a vibrant community brought together by Asian Access:

"Asian Access fosters good relationships across denominational lines."

"Through Asian Access, our family grew closer and our lives are more integrated."

"We grew in character because of Asian Access."

"We are now training our denominations and church planters with the same model of transformation."

"Asian Access is very different from any other training program. It brings us together."

Phil Hodges, coauthor of “Lead Like Jesus” recently met with alumni of the Asian Access program in India. He shared, “I conducted an informal survey among the attending pastors regarding what impact Asian Access has had on their lives and ministries. You will be gratified that their response was that the impact has been profound and personal, especially in the reordering of their personal priorities regarding ministry and family.” Please continue to pray in particular for the pastors we are partnering with in north Japan who have a very unique opportunity to transform their entire communities. God is on the move as we continue to hear stories showing God is breaking down the wall between church and Japanese society. May God be glorified we reflect his glory as we are transformed.
