Relationships are at the center of Christianity and God Himself. Jesus Christ came to die in our place to make a life giving relationship with the Lord possible. God is relational in nature being one God in three persons Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The triune God by nature is relational. The church family, marriage, and our own family show God’s priority for relationships grounded in love. So it is no surprise Jesus commanded us to, “Love your neighbor as yourself ” making our love for others the defining expression of our Christian faith.
This Thanksgiving, you have a great opportunity to share the love of Jesus Christ with our friends from Don Julian Elementary School. We have invited them to our church to serve them a traditional meal to celebrate God’s blessings. Build a relationship with a family from our community to bless them. There are a number of ways you can participate with your whole family.
Consider being a Conversation Friend by sitting at tables to meet and talk to the children of Don Julian. Or you can serve by carving turkeys or taking meals to our guests’ tables. Bless a family by baking them a delicious turkey or by bringing a pumpkin pie.
For more opportunities to serve or to donate food please go to the Thanksgiving Celebration ministry table on Sundays or go to the Thanksgiving Celebration Luncheon page HERE.
God wants to use you to show His great love.
