Six Ingredients of a Sound Marriage

Over the next six Thursday blogs, I will share six ingredients of a sound marriage.

Let me introduce the subject by quoting the Apostle Paul.  He wrote in Philippians 2:2, “make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.”

Paul was writing to the church in Philippi concerning how they should relate to one another.  These same characteristics should also be found in the lives and relationships of every individual believer.  Needless to say, these qualities should be exemplified in the marriage relationship.

Having the same mind means that a couple should live in harmony.  Having the same love means that they share intimacy.  Being united in spirit means that they jointly pursue the things of God.  Having one purpose means that they share the same goals.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a marriage with healthy harmony, incredible intimacy, shared spirituality and agreed aspirations?

How does a couple achieve such a lofty standard of marriage?  We’ll look at six helpful ingredients of a sound marriage beginning next Thursday.

Until then, in your marriage is there a healthy harmony, an incredible intimacy, a shared spirituality and agreed aspirations?

Something to think about…
