Evil Good and Good Evil

Isaiah 5:20 “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!”

Evil good and good evil…

According to the Prophet Isaiah, there are those who call evil good and good evil. That time is upon us now. Within our society, sinful behavior is considered appropriate and good while those who speak out against it are considered narrow-minded and evil.

Evil good and good evil…

Abortion is considered an appropriate solution to an unwanted pregnancy. The taking of a baby’s life has been condoned and made legal in our society.

Paul points out in Ephesians 5:11 that Christians are “…not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them”.

According to the Life Issue Institute, abortion statistics as reported by the Center for Disease Control and the Guttmacher Institute reveal that over 54 million unborn babies have been lost to abortion since 1973 (the year abortion was legalized in the United States).

Published in 2012, the most recent statistics show the CDC reported a total of 825,564 abortions (self-reported data from central health agencies of 45 states).

The Guttmacher Institute (Planned Parenthood’s research arm) reported a total of 1,212,400 based on data from direct surveys of abortionists).

The CDC Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report listed that 46.1 percent of all abortions were performed on women who had at least one previous abortion.

Approximately 3,200 babies die every day from abortions, which means every 23 seconds a baby is killed by abortion in the United States.

Based on Planned Parenthood’s own annual report, it has performed over 329,445 abortions, accounting for about 27% of all American abortions. It works out that Planned Parenthood performs an abortion every 96 seconds.

The above estimates vary, but are fairly consistent within a range of ten percent.

These statistics are a reality in our society and reveal a collective heart that believes that evil is good and good is evil.

Something to think about…
