I believe in salvation by faith in Christ alone.
With regards to salvation being a result of faith and not works, the Apostle Paul stated it very clearly and concisely in Ephesians 2:8-9. He wrote, “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
There is no salvation except by faith. No one can earn their way into heaven.
With regards to salvation in Christ alone, Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” No one can experience the mansions of heaven without knowing Jesus.
There is no salvation without Christ. There is no other way.
This also means that there is a place known as hell. Jesus said, in Matthew 25:41, 46, “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels… 46 These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
Jesus made it very clear that there is a place where God chooses to be absent throughout eternity.
What does this mean?
It means that eternal life in the presence of God can only be obtained through a confession of faith in Christ.
It means that good works alone will not get us into heaven.
Something to think about…
