Evergreen SGV Basketball

Evergreen SGV does not currently manage it's own youth basketball program but rather participates in two longstanding and well-respected community leagues.

The boy's basketball league is CYC (Community Youth Council) and the girl's league is JAO (Japanese American Optimist Club of Los Angeles), both of which were established in the 1950's. The leagues are rooted in the Japanese American community and have team representation from all over Los Angeles County.

On average, Evergreen SGV fills between eighteen to twenty-two boys and girls' basketball teams each season and also participates in the leagues' summer seasons and other weekend tournaments hosted by various organizations associated with CYC and JAO.

If your son or daughter is between the ages of 5 and 17 yrs and is interested in playing basketball, please contact us and we'll share with you our sports ministry philosophy and available basketball opportunities for your teen/child.

Gym locations:

Practice gyms are located around Monterey Park and San Gabriel areas. Actual games are played at various gyms run by CYC and JAO organizations.

Practice and Game days and times:

Practices are on Saturdays and CYC & JAO games are on Sundays.
