Pastor Jeremy Yong

Jeremy serves as Associate Pastor of Discipleship at Evergreen, with special emphasis on the oversight of Evergreen's public services, Adult Education, and the Young Adult ministry. By the grace of God, he came to repent of his sin and trust in Christ as Lord and Savior through the witness of his mother and the Chinese church he attended in Orange County. He received a B.A. from Biola University, a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Southern Seminary (Louisville, KY), and is currently a Ph.D. student in theology at Gateway Seminary.

For more than 20 years, Jeremy has served in pastoral ministry in various parts of the U.S. and overseas in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, experiences that have strengthened his commitment to multicultural ministry and missions. He also taught theology for several years as an adjunct professor at Biola University, Talbot School of Theology.

He is married to his childhood friend, Melanie, and together they have four children (college down to junior high school age). Jeremy enjoys exploring other cultures, reading, practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and dry-aging steaks for his family and friends.
