Pastor Ron Miyake

Ron has been a pastor at Evergreen SGV since December 1998. He has overseen Outreach, Family, Worship, and Prayer Ministries. He now oversees various support groups, the 55+ Ministry, Global Outreach, Adult Sports, Communion, Baptism, and Ushers. 

Ron did not grow up in a Christian home. He came to know Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord in 1973 during his freshman year in college. He has a B.A. in Biology and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University, Long Beach. Ron earned his Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1987. Prior to going into full-time ministry, Ron was a teacher for eight years with the Los Angeles Unified School District where he taught elementary school and adult English as a Second Language.  

Prior to joining Evergreen as Associate Pastor, Ron and his wife, Carol, spent 10 years in missionary service, including eight years in Yokohama, Japan, where they raised their two daughters.

Ron enjoys sports.  He especially enjoys running marathons and half marathons. He also enjoys worship music, fishing, watching movies, food, and spending time with his wife, daughters, sons-in-law, granddaughter, and dogs.
